MZ-80K screen distorting at the top
Hi all I have been working on getting my MZ-80K working and I have now got it booting up and on the screen it is fine for about a min then the screen starts pulling at the top getting worse and worse buit if I turn it off for a short time its fine then starts again. Typing SG no sound but I have also discovered that banks 2 and 3 of the ram are faulty.
I have some more 4116 chips on the way but would this cause the fault I have got.

Hi
I have checked the voltages to the ram chips and they are correct I have a logic probe if that is any good I would love a oscilloscope but just to expensive unless the very cheap eBay ones would do the job.

Hi All
Today I have replaced all the IC sockets not ram ones I have put in a new Z80 cpu and cleaned and replaced the broken legs on the rest turned it on and exactly the same as before just the lines moving side to side as in my original post any ideas where to go next with it.

I have ordered a TL866II programmer I know what you are saying but I have some other retro computers so might come in handy just out of interest what are the min chips that need to be installed to see if I am making progress so I have ordered a new z80 so with a new socket I should think that will b...

I am afraid I am a novice and these numbers don't mean a lot to me but I found the rom download section and Under hints and tips it says you can use a 2532 EPROM

On the Roms I see that the CG-rom is a HN462716G epprom but what is the M-rom thinking about getting a epprom burner if I need to replace these but are there any images for these roms out there or does anyone have them.

most of the socketed chips are like this and when trying to give a light clean legs fell of some of them so not ideal
