Here's a program that displays an image mixing standard sharp characters and "software bitmap mode".

Hey MooZ, that's pretty awesome, does it work on a real machine or just emulator?

Numbertron

Here's a nice article by jofro on his recent homebrew project:

I've had opportunity to play the game and it is very good fun. Hope he gets to release it to the world at some point.

Re: Ten Liner Cave

I should add that I ported the VIC-20 version of the code as it's much more similar to the MZ than the Sinclair BASIC.

Ten Liner Cave

I saw this video recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d2g5BXdyfU "Tiny Text Adventure: From ZX81 to VIC-20 to Ultimate 64" by 8-Bit Show And Tell I thought it'd be cool to port the game to the MZ BASIC as well. I tried but failed. I've got it into ten lines but had to split certain mathematica...

Re: Master-Boot (or similar) for the MZ-80A?

And this is a dump of memory $F000 to $FFFF on my MZ-80A with the Expansion Unit attached (my unit has both a floppy card and printer card installed). Will start disassembling this code shortly. Next will be a dump with just one of those cards installed just to see if there are any differences in th...

Re: Master-Boot (or similar) for the MZ-80A?

Going forward from this, Tony and I are carrying out some investigations regarding boot sectors etc for the 80A. Will try and report findings here in this thread. Will be starting by dumping the contents of memory $F000 to $FFFF with peripherals attached to see what code is present in that area.

Re: Master-Boot (or similar) for the MZ-80A?

Starting to wonder if it's worth disassembling the 80K one and seeing if it can be transcribed to the 80A. Trouble is I don't know the I/O stuff for the 80K.

Re: [GUIDE] How do I get my .wav files onto my MZ?

Also, the program should be loaded well before the audio track is finished :) The format of files is such that two copies (one copy + backup copy) are always stored, so once the first copy has been loaded with success the program should be ready on your machine (but the audio file will still be play...

Re: [GUIDE] How do I get my .wav files onto my MZ?

The emulator I use does use WAV files as well as MZF. My Fast Loader actually worked with a fast formatted WAV on my emulator which surprised me initially but it's just a great emulator. Car adapter from Amazon is the way I've always done it for the physical machine.
