Re: S-BASIC Screen Scrolling

S-Basic for MZ-700? I'm not sure about what you mean by wasting precious memory because there is no way else to do so. MZ-80 A and maybe MZ-1200 are the only machines able to scroll between two pages through hardware. MZ-700 may have a 2KB VRAM but the second page is useless because you need to deal...

[SHARP MZ-80 K/K2E/K2/C, 80 A, 1200] DRAM Tester ROM

This is the link to the source and releases of DRAMTester ROM image so you can detect the DRAM chips in failure.

Re: LD SP,????

At least, when just calling monitor routines in your code and using static variables, it should be enough. But for more elaborate, I will set SP somewhere else.

Re: LD SP,????

That's a valid setting because there are some room before $10F0 for a small stack. Obviously, if you are programming a recursive code or need larger stack, you'll need to point SP somewhere else.

Re: SA-5510 Disassembly

Quite easy to understand as it replaces the first letter of some BASIC commands with the white smiley to "disable" them:
- LIST
- SAVE
- POKE
- PEEK
- USR

mz-80a wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 10:08 pm OK, thanks. Although that doesn't show the memory addresses for the instructions. Pretty good though.
Well, one possibility is to assemble it while asking for a listing (addresses and bytes will be added). But I don't know the assembler the author uses.

Re: MZ-80K displaying garbage chars on screen

A scope and a logic analyzer are ALWAYS helpful. A scope will help to see if a signal has a good shape (video line or clock). LA will allow you to watch the timings of several logic signals and their coherency.
