M-ROM is monitor rom 4KB prom that looks like 2332. Finding pin compatible (e)eprom replacement for it might be a bit tricky.. adapter might be needed

There might be few ways of cleaning this kind of corrosion. Bath in ascetic acid (sometimes helps), and scrubbing it with some kind of abrasive material... fiber glass or brass wire pen. You might easily bend or break those pins though, especially those heavy corroded, so watch out. As others alread...

Question. Do you have any relaible source of XC95xx parts? They are obsoleted for a while now, and ebay is a bit hit or miss as a chip source :)

If I look at the schematics correctly, fuse near cables you are talking about is F401, on the +12v rail. Did it blow *after* you removed it from mainboard? Because there is not much there to cause it when it's not connected to anything. That gunk is probably just kind of glue used during assembly/so...

All this talk about different manuals, reminded me that I need a set of manuals for my mz800. Possibly in English ;)

Maybe should you both check the first page of manual? The one with publisher, print date, revision and other info.Then it will be easier to compare ;)
