Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

What a shame... huh... shade! That's weird, MZ-700 PSU is not supposed to offer 12V so you pick it from a modern PSU? I guess so. Anyway, keep good job and don't refrain yourself from giving us progress report (could it be a link to your blog for more details).

Re: MZ-700 demos

Here is the link to the binary package offering both PAL and NTSC version of EmuZ-700: the PAL version runs the CPU at the expected frequency (17MHz/5 and not 14MHz/4), the FPS will be capped to 50 instead of 60 and the video timings are those given in the PAL MZ-700 service manual. I maybe miss som...

Re: MZ-700 demos

I modified EmuZ-700 source to make a PAL version with PAL timings (borrowed from EmuZ-800). The purpose was to test my current game which is written to use the PAL timings. I tried several demos (including yours) I could find on Pouët website. There is only one demo (neotokyo) which fails on the las...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

Glad to hear you again. I really like your realisations on the real MZ-80 A (I have one but it needs to be fixed). Since I have a MiSTer and I would like to stick to the official cores and so the official main core, I'm glad there would be an official MZ core or - better - official cores (I indeed p...

Re: MZ-700 demos

@MooZ, did you try to draw up to 14 characters instead of 12? PAL timings appear to give us up to 91 cycles to access the VRAM until negative BLNK blocks the CPU instead of 60 cycles with NTSC timings. Your sources show you're limited the drawing sequence under 61 cycles. Since your demos are using ...

Re: Sharp MZ Hardware Emulator on MiSTer

Ah Sorgelig... he's not known as a diplomatic person. If he's not interested in something, it's an impasse. Recently, there were clashes between him and big contributors even when they usually refrain to do so. So, if I undestand well, you will keep MiSTer menu minimalistic and have a ZPU to handle ...

Ahh ok, I was expecting to read "The spelling of ['color' and not the spelling of 'colour'] is the American spelling".

Re: Color GAL5, color board for MZ80KC/1200

Weird... I would expect for US spelling to be "color" and UK spelling to be "colour" like for "behavior (US)/behaviour (UK)". You're kind of saying the contrary here...

Re: Color GAL5, color board for MZ80KC/1200

The advantage of using D7 and D3 in attribute byte is that you can pick up to 1024 characters on the same display (supposedly you fit your set in SRAM and you can alter it, you can do 320x200 graphics). That's another reason I'm not sure having European and Japanese characters in the same 1024-chara...
