Re: Reviving a MZ-1P01 plotter
I guess I should have done something, as when I tested the paper feed it worked for a few seconds and then the roller stopped. I can still hear a motor spinning, so I guess there's a rubber belt or something that has disintegrated over the years.

Yes, that's an option if I can't find a replacement. However, you never get the subtle details right so it won't look very good.

Reviving a MZ-1P01 plotter
My "new" 731 has not been used in probably 30 years. Is there anything I should do to the plotter before I test it?

MZ700 PSU - magic smoke escaped
Some magic smoke escaped from the PSU of my "new" 700 after teh C2 capacitor exploded. It does not seem to affect the functionality of the PSU. Should I replace it anyway? The same happened to the PSU in my other 700 some years ago, I replaced it just to be safe but maybe I didn't have to.

Not so shiny new MZ
Look what arrived in the mail today :) And yes, this is how it was packed. No padding of any sort inside. The fact that nothing was broken in shipping is a testament to the Sharp build quality. new mz731.jpg Fortunately it looked a lot better inside. Don't know what's working or not yet, as I want t...
