I had a look at this myself. Seems a near perfect fit but as you said just needs filled down a bit.
The replacement keys looks great.

Re: Mz700 repair project
Looks really good. I'll have a go with the lego tonight and see if I can get something sorted with the plungers.

Re: Mz700 repair project
I'll have to raid the kids lego box to borrow a few bits. Can maybe use a lego block as a temporary key lol.

Re: Mz700 repair project
Fantastic work on modelling that key. If you fancy the job of making me a K and right arrow key I'd gladly pay for it. In terms of the broken plunger I was thinking again and the easiest option may be to recreate the top part of the plunger only then saw it off the base of the broken one and glue on...

Re: Mz700 repair project
When stripping the keyboard I noticed the shift keys use 2 plunger each but only 1 is actually required. I've taken 1 from each to replace my other 2 broken plungers so it's just the keys I need now. I'll have a go at the retro brightening and see what happens. I've done an Amiga before and 1541-ii ...

Re: Mz700 repair project
I haven't had a lot of time recently but spent a few hours tonight cleaning the keyboard which was unbelievably dirty and now it certainly appears that all keys are working again. I'm going to retro bright the keys and the case for my next step so don't want to fit them all again just to remove them...

Re: Mz700 repair project
I'll hopefully be getting into the keyboard tomorrow and I've been speaking a 3d printing company to make me the keys and push rods I need. Would anyone else be interested in spare keyboard parts if I order a few extras? Also I'm ordering the replacements caps for the power supply. Is c2 a 0.01uf x2...

Re: Mz700 repair project
So I spent some time tonight and removed the offending caps from the power supply, replaced the fuse and after reassembly and switch on I got a beep and picture on screen. Delighted would be an understatement. Next issue is the keyboard and it looks as if a fair few keys are not working along with t...

Re: Mz700 repair project
Thanks for the reply. I just found it interesting that the rom is labelled mitsubshi as I would of thought it being the system rom would be one of the chips made by sharp but as they say you learn something new each day! I need to measure the existing caps (physically) before ordering but in the mea...
