I've cleaned up my mz-821 and got the QD and tapedrive working and lost interest quickly afterwards (it's the journey not the destination kind of thing?).
Anyway I might want to sell in the near future but I really have no idea yet what reasonable even is, since they are rarely sold online.

Re: Gotek drive emulator
Ok, I never tried Jeff's firmware in the end but decided to help to get the flashfloppy firmware fixed. The experimental firmware I got seems to work!

Re: WTB: Belt for -K- Tape drive
Hi, thanks for your answer. Any idea what this "T" means ? Has anyone already replaced these belts ? Sorry for the 2+ year necropost here.. I have today replaced the belt on my quickdrive. And it works. The machine has not worked in decades so I have idea if the disks have degraded or tha...

Re: Introduction
You mean 320x200x8b (linear mode, 256 colors)? So I guess you never had to go with planar mode with SET/OR/AND/XOR operations? Yeah, that linear mode was a blessing when it comes. Yeah mode 13 or mode X (320x400 if I remember correctly) No planar mode for me, and it sounds absolutely horrible and s...

Jup that's what I did, though my info came from https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki/Quick-Disk . I Even used the same colorcoded wires from my breadboard to set it up.

Re: sharpmz.no - problems
Hello, I was using duck duck go to search for some sharp related things and something in the result caught my eye, so to speak... I didn't find any clickable anchors when I was verifying, but the site is littered with links to a "blog" about a certain bodily activity. <a href="https:/...

Re: Gotek drive emulator
I actually wired up a GOTEK to my controller (the bottom half of the MZ 1F11) And it tries to work but it's not quite there yet.Hint: the gotek can emulate an QD-Drive too !!
Has anybody else tried to do this with any success? I can format and ask for a list but writing seems to fail.

Re: Introduction
Since I just signed up, I might as well introduce myself too. - Male (I see a pattern here) - 1976 (I could be the youngest of us all ;) ) - the Netherlands The first "computer" to enter our house in the 80s was a second hand atari 2600. Quickly followed by a second hand MZ-721. They MZ wa...
