Hi my friend...

Still searching for a good candidate schematic to 'emulate' via fpga design.
Ia m thinking of implementig K & P FDC800 card

https://original.sharpmz.org/usedskdrives.htm

According to datasheet controller chip has the same mapping with original mz80b chip FDD controller
So why not?

Hi I found a large A3 scan of the MZ-80A floppy disk card, this will work in the B if you dissable the CS/CE to the EPROM IC 3 PIN 8 to IC 5 PIN 1. add pull-up resister to IC 5 PIN 1

Well after alot of searching around with no result I decided to give a try to the following (in progress) project:

I took the schematic (thanks to Martin8bity)
FDC800_origin.jpg
and re-designed it using XC9536 for digital part and original WD1773 FDD chip
FDC800_CPLD.jpg
my 1773 chip just arrived yesterday after a lot of wait. So I can give my project a try!

I will let you know with the results

I agree, looks interesting.
Question. Do you have any relaible source of XC95xx parts? They are obsoleted for a while now, and ebay is a bit hit or miss as a chip source :)

Yes I have 2 xc9536 5V from a reliable source already tested. The difficult thing is to property program these guys due a programming bug on the first chip batches.

For the moment (and due to Covid lock down) I designing a development pcb so I can verify the schematic design in real circuit.

This is probably the most exciting news for any 80b owner. I am dying to add a Gotek drive.

Hmm, I wonder if the original chips are available?
And also, does anyone have the physical measuremnts and layout of the card?
