[MZ-80 K/A] Do they have PCG?
The emulator source I read describes writing bytes at $E010-$E012 as a way to do PCG operations even if emulating an MZ-80 K or A. It's quite disturbing as I don't remember MZ-80 K has any PCG. I guess the emulator is no trying to be totally compliant by disabling such feature when the real MZ-80 K should not have such feature.
Re: [MZ-80 K/A] Do they have PCG?
I am looking this up right now because no MZ-80A I have ever seen as had a PCG. It is not built into the machine as standard. It would be mentioned in the manual and other 80A books. I'm just going through my index of SUC magazines to see any mentions of it.

I can only find information about the Quantum Hi-Res board for the MZ-80K
No mention of PCG.
No mention of PCG.
Re: [MZ-80 K/A] Do they have PCG?
Apparently, any mention to PCG for any MZ series under MZ-800 are external devices:
- HAL PCG-8000 -> PCG for MZ-80 K/C/K2/K2E. Only one programmable set.
- HAL PCG-1200 -> PCG for MZ-1200. Two programmable sets. Only one can be active on the display.
- HAL PCG-700 -> PCG for MZ-700. Two programmable sets. Both can be active through bit 7 value of the attribute character in VRAM.
By 'set' I mean the upper 128 characters in a font.

Re: [MZ-80 K/A] Do they have PCG?
Yep, the previous librarian for the SUC's MZ-80A library was in the process at one point of making a hi-res board for the 80A but I don't think there's been any progress on that in a while. Quantum was for 80K.

About PCG, would anyone have electronic diagrams on hand?
