Sharp MZ-700 no cursor on startup

Post by caver99 »

i have an MZ-700 and when powered on you get the normal message **MONITOR 1Z-013A ** but there is no cursor, not sure what part of the circut i need to look at to get this back again.

if i power off then quickly power back on when i see the cursor the system seems to start up and i am able to type, if i type the B and return the machine locks up, i have tried to load basic from a wav and got it to see the file name once.
i am able to d00009999 and it runs through dumping all the memory locations with either 00 or FF.

any advice?

i have replaced the D8255 and the D8253 as thought it could be the reset of the timer.
i have added a screen shot of my screen
