MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
Does anyone have a copy of the MZ-1200 character ROM? I would like to change the one in my MZ-80A for the 1200 so I can play some Japanese games. I also have the ability to make new Monitor ROMs and character ROMs for the 80A. In fact, if anyone has the 1200 Monitor ROM as well that'd be pretty cool. I can burn EPROMs if necessary (this may become a service on my Sharpworks online store).
Re: MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
Looks like the MZ-80K (Japanese version of this machine) contains similar, probably the same, CG-ROM so I will be trying that...
Re: MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
I'll try to get the original content of both ROMs. Please be patient.
In the meanwhile this cahr ROM should work:

Here it is, but it is the same as sharpmz already pointed.

Thanks! That's very useful.

Hi Martin8bity,
great to see you here!
While looking at this blog entry about ME2700, I noticed the picture of a Mega with an LCD and an SD reader. I happen to have all of them. I plan to use this LCD this week but I was wondering whether there were some special libraries to get as I only got the hardware. Does your source contain all the necessary stuff or should I import some special libraries which are not included in the Arduino IDE by default yet?

A further secret is revealed and new secrets arise
Thanks Martin for doing this job.
The IPL-ROM of our 80k has no relationship with 80k2e or 1200.
We can only assume, but not say with certainty, that 80k2e and 1200 are technically identical. The ROMs are. Someday someone will have circuit diagrams that will reveal this secret.

Re: MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
I have a lot of libraries and this is pretty old 2708/8708 project and I am not sure if I could find sources, but I think there are just standard LiquidCrystal and SD libraries included in default Arduino installation.hlide wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 10:30 am at this blog entry about ME2700, I noticed the picture of a Mega with an LCD and an SD reader. Can I just check something : How much RAM memory does the MZ-1200 have? (I presume ROM is still 4KB)

Re: MZ-1200 Character ROM ?
ROM is 4kB + 2kb CG + emtpy slot on MB without a socket.
RAM is 2x16 kB + empty sockets for another 16 kB, so full RAM 48 kB
